Terms of use
Version 1.0 · Effective
These terms apply when you use MedicareScout. By using it, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.
Who runs MedicareScout
MedicareScout is run by Eland Consulting, a Kansas limited liability company. In these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Eland Consulting.
What MedicareScout is, and what it is not
MedicareScout gives general information and tools to help you compare Medicare plans. It is not insurance advice.
- We are not an insurance agent, broker, or insurance company.
- MedicareScout does not enroll you in a plan or change your coverage.
- MedicareScout is not affiliated with or endorsed by Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, or any government agency.
Check before you decide
Our plan information comes from public data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other sources, as of the dates shown in the tool. That data can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and we can make mistakes too.
Before you join, change, or drop a plan, confirm the details with the plan or at Medicare.gov. For free help from a trained counselor, contact your State Health Insurance Assistance Program at shiphelp.org, or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227; TTY 1-877-486-2048).
The choice is yours
Decisions about your coverage are yours. Before you join a plan, it is up to you to check that it fits your needs.
Using MedicareScout fairly
Please don’t:
- use automated tools to copy or scrape MedicareScout’s pages, data files, or the services behind them;
- try to break, overload, or get around the site’s security;
- use MedicareScout to break any law.
We may block anyone who does these things.
No warranty
MedicareScout is provided “as is” and “as available.” As far as the law allows, we make no promises of any kind about it. That includes any promise that it is correct, complete, always available, or right for a certain use.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, Eland Consulting is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss. We are also not liable for any decision you make based on MedicareScout. If we are found liable anyway, the most we will owe is $100.
Some states don’t allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
Links to other websites
MedicareScout links to other websites, such as Medicare.gov and plan websites. We don’t control them, and we are not responsible for what they say or how they handle your information.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains how we handle information. It is part of these terms.
Governing law
The laws of the State of Kansas govern these terms, without regard to rules about which state’s laws apply. Any dispute about these terms will be decided in the state courts in Johnson County, Kansas, or the federal courts for the District of Kansas.
Changes to these terms
Each version of these terms shows its version number and the date it takes effect. We will update this page before a change takes effect. If you keep using MedicareScout after that, the new terms apply.
